Programme
Wikimania lies at the intersection of many different circles of people — academics, legal scholars, subject experts, community leaders, software hackers and entrepreneurs. During the day, the conference rooms of the Haus der Jugend were dedicated to presentations, workshops, and group discussions. Below is the programme of these events. There were a few other spontaneous events as the conference developed; long lunches and breaks in the afternoon were reserved for people to make their own plans.
Not all presentations were in English; a few were in German. The language of each presentation is made clear in the presentation abstracts linked to below. Times given are local to Frankfurt (UTC +2 at the time of the convention). Many of the presenters wrote papers associated with their presentation; some people submitted excellent papers but were unable to come in person. A full list of accepted papers, presentations and workshops is being drafted at Proceedings of Wikimania 2005 to be finalized and published this fall. Translations may be available for some of the papers. Posters were on display throughout the event, and their creators were available during afternoon breaks each day to answer questions about them. Recordings (audio and video) were be made of speakers in the Großer Saal (pronounced "Grosser", Big Hall) and Kleiner Saal (Small Hall). Photos and other media of the Wikimania events may be found in the galleries on WikiCommons; please add yours there as well.
During the conference, you could listen to presentations in the Großer Saal and Kleiner Saal on the Internet via Freematrix Radio; the sound files will be available soon for podcasting.
